Pub Food with Reviews, Maps and Links to their websites

The Red Lion

Red Lion St, Birmingham, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7LG, UK – 0121 445 4162

Bar staff young, unfamiliar and contrary. That said..how else would we like the young. Eat there on Saturday and the fish was good. I Enjoyed my meal. It's a pub that serves food in a familiar and pleasant environment. That said, if they put they're prices up any more I'd reconsider my options.

Nice friendly and busy pub with great staff. Food is standard pub grub but nothing wrong with that. Recommended

The Coach & Horses, Weatheroak Hill

Weatheroak Hill, Alvechurch B48 7EA, UK – 01564 823386

This is what the definition of a pub should be, great food, local beer, locals with humour and bar staff a plenty. Great garden, two bars and a restaurant with one bar that is dog friendly, huge car park and a brilliant rural location. If your looking for a flash gastro pub that charges a fortune this isn’t it. If you crave the pub of old with character and belonging then you’ve found it.

I brought my husband a book from a charity shop for our wedding anniversary which is 25 years old...we thought it would be great to go walking and to find the pubs in book to see if still there re take pictures...to our delight this one was! We didn't eat in restaurant but had a good old fahioned cob served from the bar and drink as we had grif our dog with us...pub is dog friendly lots of pups there. Large car park friendly helpful staff...beer garden...menu for restaurant looks scrummy so will be returning to sample soon. Their own micro brewery on same site as pub you could smell the hops....great to see a pub still thriving since 1780!

The Crown Inn

Withybed Ln, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7PN, UK – 0121 445 2300

Lovely pub. Young lady serving was excellent. Seen dogs here all day. Grass table adjacent from pub had dogs running around. I would give 10/10

Another Alvechurch classic pub under new management and all the better for it. Sleepy local in an idyllic setting. Great range of nice home cooked pub grub. Fab range of good beers and ciders. No dogs inside, but there's a massive covered area in the garden to sit with them. Our dog was quite happy sat with us outside.

New Dilshad International

2 Red Lion St, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7LF, UK – 0121 445 5583

Nice curry. Be adventurous and pick something new off the menu. I like to have side dishes and chapattis instead of main dish and rice.

Lovely food, excellent service. Very accomodating on dietary needs and special requests not on the menu. Good value for money on the food & on the cocktails too. Really like this place.

Hopwood House Alvechurch

Hopwood, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7AB, UK – 0121 445 1716

Main course was great, good food, good value. HOWEVER...... They fell down on desert, I ordered a chocolate sundae, it SPECIFIED mini brownies, however they were just more like a light chocolate sponge. I was expecting a collection of gooey chocolate brownies at the bottom covered in a rich chocolate sauce. Instead I got some chocolate sponge at the top covered by whipped cream. Another flaw in the crafting of this delicacy was the lack of marshmallows and most importantly the size, it was a measly average sized sundae glass, in a tall glass you can fit many brownies and sauce at the bottom, however in this you got VANILLA ice cream and chocolate sauce. Everything else oboit the experience was great, except the desert. So I bless this review section with a 3 stars, maybe an improvement on desert could push you to a 4. Thanks, Just serving you your just deserts.

Excellent food, service , staff and lots of choice. They specialist in chicken rotisserie meals and is one of the very few places that can do it without making the chicken dry. Also a decent choice of cask ales which for me is always a nice touch. Quiet during the week. Parking is extensive however if you have elderly relatives or disabled family members i highly recommend using the top car park as the bottom one has a huge set of stairs leading the the door (look on Google maps street view). Gets very busy from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening (recommend booking tables on these days) . Highly recommend this place.

Peacock Inn

Icknield Street, Alvechurch, Forhill B38 0EH, UK – 01564 823232

Lovely little pub away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.... Great service very friendly and attentive staff.... Lovely little garden to sit in on a hot summers eve with a nice cold pint... Food was great... I've found this with most chef and brewers

Great food (Well the Waygu burger and the seafood grill we ordered was nice). Great service (Beth our waitress, I would describe as sweet as a cupcake). Picturesque location. Rustic style, wooden interior. Lots of ales and gins to try out. Lovely. Only slight was the lack of nibbles to order before enjoying our meal. (Bread and oil but no olives?) Walked away from the pub with a happy warm glow. I would recommend it.

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Alvechurch

Deedar Indian Cuisine CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT

26 Hewell Rd, Barnt Green, Birmingham B45 8NE, UK – 07853 318904

I unfortunately can only say this place was ok....it lacked anything interesting really. The decor was very basic and felt quite cafe like, there was no ambiance and the open bar had some very loud noisy people who appeared to be there just for a drink rather than food. Service was very slow but the food tasted great, very small portion sizes for the average Indian restaurant though.

Good food and great staff. A little expensive but hey I can walk home

Great little hidden gem in the countryside with a lovely little beer garden. Popped in for a drink with friends and was greeted with a smile. Friendly staff and great food. Service was quick and our server Kiran, couldn’t do more for us. Would thoroughly recommend!

Came her with my husband this evening for dinner. Both staters and mains were absolutely delicious. Too stuffed to try the desserts but will definitely be back as we saw some on a table next to us and they looked amazing! Amy and Hannah were our waitresses and couldn’t do enough for us. A well deserved 5 stars
